The dome was filled with athletes, coaches, and parents for the second weekend of club volleyball at the Harry Jerome Sports Centre. All six courts were in use as the girls 17U/18U and boys 13U-16U teams visited Burnaby for the one day tournaments. The action began on Saturday with 21 girls teams from the lower mainland and island taking part in pool play in the morning and playoffs in the afternoon.
On Sunday, the 24 boys teams came to town and participated in a similar format tournament. Athletes enjoyed fresh food from the Wings food truck, and Canuck Volleyball was on site selling volleyball gear and shirts. The house was packed and so were the parking lots, so we’d like to remind teams and parents to make sure to carpool when possible and please only park in valid areas (no parking along the highway).
Full results from this weekend are now available in the Volleyball BC results section.
Coming up this weekend is the 13U & 14U girls Spike League event in the Fraser Valley, and the 16U girls Super Series tournament at the HJSC/Byrne Creek Secondary School. Both tournaments are full so there should be some great competition with multiple clubs participating!
