2025 VBC Requirements

VBC has made some substantial changes in our 2025 coach education requirements.  These changes were made in order to make it simpler and easier for coaches and clubs in their coach education journey.  Some of these changes are:

  • The removal of Advanced Development requirements for 18U and 17U Head Coaches
  • The removal of Certification Requirements for all Head Coaches
  • The removal of different requirements for different divisions
  •  The removal of the Development Coach Workshop as a 14U Head Coach requirement.

2025 VC Requirements

VC has also made some substantial changes to their 2025 coach education requirements in hopes to simplify and make it easier for coaches and clubs. Some of these are similar to VBC’s changes and some of them are different.  These changes are:

  • All Coaches attending VC Nationals will need Foundations of Volleyball.
  • All Head Coaches, coaching at their third plus VC Nationals will need to be a Certified Development Coach.
  • The removal of Advanced Development requirements for 18U and 17U Head Coaches.

The NCCP guides Volleyball BC’s youth club system within the framework of the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. Each NCCP course has three distinct phases toward certification. Completion of each phase provides the coach with one of three designations: “In Training”, “Trained”, or “Certified”. For more information on the pathways and how to get certified, please follow the links below.

The Coaching Association of Canada is implementing a Maintenance of Certification Policy, which Volleyball Canada will be adopting. The NCCP Professional Development Policy will be implemented starting January 1, 2014, where coaches will need to accrue points over a 5 year span. For more details and a FAQ section please follow the Coaching Association of Canada linkhere. For more details on Volleyball specific professional development please follow the Volleyball Canada link here.

You can check your NCCP transcript online via the NCCP Locker Database. In the database, you will be able to view and update your personal information, monitor your coaching records, and print a certification transcript.
