Framework for Safety and Inclusion
In May 2025, the Board approved a new Framework for Safety and Inclusion for Volleyball BC. The Framework is a continuation of the work that VBC has undertaken over the last 4 years to establish safe and welcoming volleyball experiences.
As an organization, our focus will be to integrate safety and inclusion throughout our governance, operations and programming. The creation of the framework was guided by these principles:
- Improving VBC’s operations and leading by example
- Alignment with our Strategic Plan
- Adding value in areas where only VBC can deliver
- Focus on facilitation, signposting, and partnerships
We are committed to sharing our progress with our community and will be issuing annual reports on this page.
PREVIOUS WORK 2022-2025
The new Framework for Safety and Inclusion is a continuation of work that VBC has undertaken to establish safe and welcoming volleyball experiences across the province. With input from a Safe Sport Working Group and a DEI Committee, we created two strategies that directed our delivery between 2022-2025. Below are links to the strategies with the impact reports summarising the progress that we made at the end of their duration. We are proud to now build on this work in our new Framework.
