Volleyball BC is deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Mathew Nee, a respected coach, athlete, and long‑time member of the Vancouver volleyball community.
Mathew contributed to the sport in many meaningful ways, competing as an athlete, and a coach for both Apex Volleyball Club and Eric Hamber Secondary, while remaining an active and valued presence in adult leagues and local volleyball circles.
In recent years, Mathew has served as the lead coach for Volleyball BC’s Richmond Adult Skills Clinics, working tirelessly to build a welcoming, supportive community environment for athletes of all levels. His dedication to creating connection and belonging was felt by everyone who trained with him.
